Dry Year ahead for the Okavango Delta

Water is the backbone of the tourism sector in the Okavango Delta and it looks like 2019 will be one of the driest years for the tourism sector and resident communities.
A dugout canoe (Mokoro) community run tour service operated by Okavango Kopano Mokoro Community Trust is feeling the pinch of climate change induced river drying.  About 300 Mokoro polers from Boro and Xharaxao boat stations enrolled under their  Mokoro tour community project  are facing displacement due to drying rivers in their areas.
The dry season pose a threat for the thriving boat cruising sector.  It looks like little supply will arrive in to Botswana from Angola this year. Bad year ahead. Climate change is real.
