Okavango Kopano Mokoro is introducing a canoe (Mokoro) policy to be observed by polers in its tourism concession .

The purpose of the code of the conduct is to create a good business environment for the Mokoro polers.
OKMCT manager, Seikaneg Moepedi, has revealed that in terms of the new policy, all the Mokoro Polers will be required to put on uniforms when poling tourists in to Okavango Delta.  He explained that the Trust will buy the uniforms and sell to the polers. As OKMCT we: “we want the polers to look presentable in their line of work.”
The trust held consultative meeting in the six settlements of its operation to get the communities views on the policy. Has said the feed back they received from the community meetings is positive.   He said: “All our polers want to see their profession developing and this policy is part of that development.”
The policy further  discourage polers from intoxication while poling.
